Coaches meeting is this Monday, the 22nd at John Jay College 445 West 59th Street at 11:15am. 

1-The Coalition Institute and Training Initiative (CITI 2011) runs from August 15-26.  We will be at John Jay College for Week 1.  For Week 2, we will start at John Jay on Monday. 10am-4pm.  All member schools are invited to send up to 20 debaters. Week 2 is novice and middle school.

2-CITI Starter Packs are ready

The advanced starter pack features one aff while the novice/ middle school one uses an adaptation produced by the Atlanta Urban Debate League. 

3-Membership Deadline approaching fast, Wednesday is the deadline for 20% discount

Three years ago by vote of the Coaches Leadership Committee, all schools are being asked to become paid members of the IMPACT Coalition to help sustain the resources needed to provide debate opportunities for all kids across NYC.  Early subscribers who pay by check, cash or credit card receive a 20% discount which expires on Wednesday, August 24th. Schools can pay on our website using the paypal link on the donation page.  After August 24th, the rate for NYUDL members reverts back to the full $4000.

4-FREE PRINCETON SUMMER INSTITUTE!!

Attention NYUDL Coaches and School Personnel!!!   NYUDLs with rising 11th graders who are strong academically should notify their student's guidance counselors about the following opportunity for their students: Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) www.ledascholars.org.    LEDA seeks to support high-achieving low-income high school students by helping them gain access to top colleges, with the goal of diversifying leadership in America.    

The program includes a FREE summer institute at Princeton University including leadership development, assistance with SAT/ACT test prep, and writing instruction for the college applications. LEDA staff  advise students through the entire colleage application and financial aid process.  The LEDA recruitment process is underway. The counselor information packet and inital application is attached to this email.
