Support Centers

What is the Bronx Urban Debate Support Center?
With the support of the Open Society Institute, the IMPACT Coalition has established the Bronx Urban Debate Support Center which is housed at the Bronx Preparatory Charter School. BDSC serves as a debate resource center to support existing debate programs at the participating NYUDL Bronx high schools. It provides a forum where teachers and students can come to develop their advocacy skills, prepare for tournaments and interact with people who share their interests. The centerpiece of the center is a series of interactive workshops offered on a weekly basis throughout the year which enhance high school debate programs by offering additional coaching, resources for research, assistance in position development, and preparation for tournaments. The BDSC is open Tuesdays through Fridays to meet students' debate needs.
