WHAT WE LOOK FOR: The IMPACT Coalition is looking for competent, charismatic, passionate go-getters who know how to get things done to join our team. Millions of young people grow up without a thirst for learning. Failing schools, crumbling communities and a lack of public commitment create the perfect storm for today’s young people to abandon hope. Even the select few who find a positive situation are often ripped from that situation due to changes in family circumstances. IMPACT works to restore that thirst for learning by sharing the power of debate and promoting its use in classrooms, communities, prisons and places of worship so that young people rediscover their voices and can regain hope.
SCOPE AND TIMEFRAME IMPACT facilitates large-scale programs such as the New York Urban Debate League, the Bella Abzug Leadership Institute, and the Lincoln Douglas Debates along with community programs directed at nonprofit organizations, corporations, prisons, unions and after-school centers. Responsibilities will include teacher training, tournament coordination, fund development, event planning, parent communication, institute planning, media relations, website management, curriculum development, marketing, promotion, school outreach and recruitment, assessment and evaluation. All positions are for a minimum of two years.
